Pain Relief

Do you have a pain somewhere? A muscle or joint ache? A bruise? A toothache? A new or old scar? An operation? Anything at all that needs to heal, even internal complaints?

Here's what you do:

Using your whole hand (or if the area is very small, two fingers) stroke the area that is sensitive in a figure "8" pattern. Draw it along the pain so that the "8" looks like an "8" and then try drawing it across the pain (or scar) So that the "8" appears to be lying down. This is called a "Lazy 8". One way will feel better to you. You can touch the skin (or the clothing over the area) if it feels OK to do so, or you can float the "8" in the air above the pain, because it would be too sensitive to touch, as in a burn, or inappropriate to touch. You can be as much as 3" away from the area.
Keep drawing the figure "8" till you get bored or till the pain subsides, until you or your friend sighs deeply, which is a way of releasing the stuck energy of pain. This technique hastens healing as well as relieving pain. Teach it to your kids so they can relieve the skinned knees and bruises themselves. You can do figure "8's" on yourself or on others.
